Cahal Pech's late pre-classic temples
and two separate ball courts display fine examples of
Maya craftsmanship, suggesting this site was a hilltop
residence of royalty and their cadre.
The site consists of 34
structures on two acres, which is home to many colorful birds and exotic plants, which also makes it a good place to enjoy some Bird Watching while you are there.
A visitors' center contains artifacts
and a reconstructed model of the site. The center is open Monday through Saturday. There is a small admission fees to enter the site.

It's a 15-20
minute uphill walk or an inexpensive cab ride from from
downtown area in San Ignacio.
