Itinerary

DAY ONE

0600 hrs - Pick up participants in San Ignacio; transport to Chiquibul Jungle survival area, reaching camp at about 1030 hrs. Safety brief of the area, followed by machete handling and cutting methods. Instruction on starting a fire without matches, flints or other 'traditional' tools.

Construct shelter and bush craft beds ready for the over night stay.

1200 & 1300 hrs - Lunch, supplied by ADVENTURETREX prepared & cooked under the jungle canopy.

1300 hrs - Remainder of the activities continue with programme, which will include
identification of important plants and their uses, ways of collection of water improvise, and purification, first aid, fire stand construction, collection of dry wood for camp fire for the early part of the night, discuss the programme for the next days activities.

1600-1730 hrs - Dinner - Followed by camp fire educational talk by bushcraft experts.

2100 hrs - Sleep in prepared shelters.

DAY TWO

0600-0730 hrs - Breakfast.

0800 hrs - The day begins with animal, bird trap instruction and placement. Collection
of jungle growth plants suitable for human consumption.

1200-1300 hrs - Lunch.

1300 hrs - Proceed to river for instruction on basic fishing techniques with traps you
have made in camp. Following this exercise you will have the opportunity to kayak on the river for some brief R&R.

1600 - 1730 hrs - Dinner followed by camp fire gathering and story telling by your
bushmasters.

2100 hrs - Enjoy this nights sleep, because tomorrow you'll be surviving on all the
skills passed to you......

DAY THREE & FOUR

0600-0730 hrs - Breakfast.

08:00 hrs - We shall be utilizing all that was taught over the past two days.

Now it is time for the real survival section of the course by living in the jungle making use of the available materials provided by nature in the surrounding area.

On Day Four at midday we will regroup at the camp site, debrief on the events of last few days, get ready for jungle extraction at 2pm, load LAND ROVER and be driven back to San Ignacio.
