Jungle Survival Course
(4) DAYS

DAY ONE

0600 hrs - Pick up participants in San Ignacio; transport to Chiquibul Jungle-Survival Training Area; reaching camp approx. 1030 hrs; Safety briefing of the area; machete handling and other cutting methods. Instruction on starting a fire without matches, flints or other 'traditional' tools.

Construct Shelter and bush-craft-beds; Prepare for the over-night.

1200 & 1300 hrs - Lunch, supplied by ADVENTURETREX prepared & cooked under
jungle canopy.

1300 hrs -Continue with programme - Identifiying important plants and their uses; water collection and purification; First aid, fire stand construction, wood collecting and drying.

1600-1730 hrs - Dinner - Followed by early evening camp fire educational talk by
Bush craft experts.... discuss programme, observations, activities ....

2100 hrs - Jungle Overnight in prepared shelters.

DAY TWO

0600-0730 hrs - Breakfast.

0800 hrs - The day begins with animal and bird trapping instruction and placement. Collection of plants suitable for human consumption.

1200-1300 hrs - Lunch.

1300 hrs - Proceed to river for instruction on basic fishing techniques with traps you
have already construced in camp. Following this exercise you will have the opportunity to kayak on the river for some brief R&R.

1600 - 1730 hrs - Dinner followed by camp fire gathering and story telling by your
bushmasters.

2100 hrs - Enjoy this nights sleep, because tomorrow you'll be surviving on all the
skills that were passed to you and learned ......

DAY THREE & FOUR

0600-0730 hrs - Breakfast.

08:00 hrs - We shall be utilizing all that was taught over the past two days.

Now it is time for the real survival section of the course .... by living in the jungle making use of the available materials provided by nature .....

NOTE - Around mid-day on Day Four, we will regroup at the camp-site; Debrief on the events of last few days, and then get ready for jungle extraction at 2pm; Load Land Rover and return to San Ignacio.
