Depending on the duration of the Jungle Survival Course you reserve - The 4 Day Jungle Survival Course or the 8 Day Jungle Survival Course: Fellow Survival Enthusiasts will escort you into the remote and pristine Chiquibul Reserve. Here you will be accompanied by an ADVENTURETREX jungle-survival instructor, along with two experienced local Mayan guides, who will show you just how accommodating the jungle can be, and how you can survive in a jungle setting.
JUNGLE SURVIVAL COURSE - Summary Itinerary
Upon your arrival to Belize, you will be flown directly by light plane from the International Airport over the jungle canopy (8 day programme only), giving you a 'bird's eye' view of your 'home', for the duration of your Jungle Survival Course. Afterwards we continue to our landing strip, located alongside our main operational base in the Cayo district. From here you will be transported, by road, to your first overnight: A local "Jungle Lodge". That evening we shall start your acclimatization to the environment and also begin demonstrating some helpful, jungle-survival techniques.
For your first night in the jungle, you'll have the opportunity to construct and sleep in your own jungle hammock and learn to safely use a machete (supplied); Wash in jungle-spawned-rivers and take in all the animal and wildlife sounds, the jungle has to offer.
Next day survival training begins in earnest.
We'll take you through all the skills you'll need to find drinkable water, build a temporary shelter, light a fire with no matches or flint and procure food, from traps that you will construct and set for your evening meal... plus so much more.
Note - You will be consuming some strange, yet nutritious insects and other jungle-produced food items.
When the training time is over:
You will be equipped with all the skills needed to set out on your own, or in a buddy pair, to a virgin piece of the jungle, where for the next few days, (8 day course only),
you will literally be doing everything for yourself. With little more than a machete and the clothes you are wearing, you will be challenged to put all your new-found survival skills to the test.
You will not have any watch or flashlight.
In fact, you won't have any of the accepted modern gadgets to assist you. It will be all down to surviving as you've been trained, by using your wits and bush-skills to enjoy your total immersion with
nature.
Again, depending on the course length, and after many adrenaline filled days and nights, our Maya Search & Tracking Experts reach your location, where we expect we will find you both mentally and physically exhausted. However, you are still in a jungle environment that you have to get out of!
A return jungletrek will be called for and we will get you out and you will arrive, to once again, enjoy the relative comforts of our jungle camp.
Afterwards, we throw you into a world of luxury, a place where you can recount your experiences, where the beer is exceedingly cold and an abundance of delectable food is at hand. Your shelter for this night, will be a jungle lodge with a real bed, clean sheets, en suite bathroom and fans.......
Our final day has arrived, and after a late breakfast, we take those last photographs, pack our bags and prepare for the journey by road to the International Airport in Belize City & home... bringing to a close this life changing experience.
