No experience
necessary - We use safe inflatable kayaks. Encounter
light rapids: class two, three and four depending
on water level, with cascading falls and breath
taking scenery in between. Your favorite refreshments
are always on hand. Parrots, parakeets, flycatchers,
cormorants, herons, ducks, iguanas, kingfishers
are some of the river life you are sure to encounter
along the way, not to mention a vast array of bromeliads
(air plants), orchids epiphytic cactuses and more.
A delicious Belizean style barbeque awaits at the
end.

Macal River Canoeing
An
easy float down the Macal River to San Ignacio
town.
Take along a guide or set out on your own.
Either way we pack your favorite beverage,
just remember to take it slow and enjoy
the view. A favorite stop over is the "Medicine
Trail", where you can take a self guided
tour and learn about more than 35 useful
plants identified and labeled with explanations
about their uses. By the way Jeronie is
always available to answer your plant questions
and is happy to share his knowledge about
medicinal plants, much of it passed down
to him by his 93 year old Grand father,
Thomas Green.
Thomas
Green is a celebrated dug out canoe builder
and represented Belize by demonstrating
the art of dug-out canoe building at the
World's Fair in New Orleans. Many people
are delighted to meet such a person.
