Full-Day Horseback Outings
For riders of any level, sightseeing from the back of a horse is always fun. Where else can you ride to a cave, explore the cave and canoe downstream to your lodge, all in the same day? Or how about a ride through field and forest to the small village of San Jose Succotz, crossing the Mopan River on a hand-cranked ferry for your guided tour of Xunantunich Maya site. Afterwards have lunch in a local restaurant and return by horse or in a vehicle.
Or how about an hour and a half's ride through forest, field and orchard along the Macal River, then a riverside picnic followed by a leisurely float downstream in a canoe or inner tubes.
For more adventurous riders there is the option of adding a 40-minute hike to Flour Camp Cave with time to explore the cave before you begin your float downstream to duPlooy's beach. On your way back home there are plenty of spots to stop and take a refreshing swim. No worries - Your guide will return the horses to duPlooy's for you.
